Charmaine Sneyd
CEO
Charmaine is the Chief Executive Officer of Abimar Brokers Africa and brings over 34 years of experience in South Africa’s reinsurance broking market. With a career spanning major international firms and independent ventures, she is widely respected for her strategic insight, technical expertise, and long-standing client relationships.
Before leading Abimar, Charmaine successfully ran her own reinsurance brokerage and held senior roles at Guy Carpenter, as well as serving as CEO of Vox Africa Brokers. Her ability to navigate complex risk environments and deliver tailored solutions has made her a trusted advisor in both facultative and treaty reinsurance.
Her leadership reflects a clear vision to build a brokerage rooted in expertise, integrity, and enduring partnerships.
Jonathon Lane
Chairman
Jonathon brings over 20 years of experience in the global insurance markets, having built his expertise across a broad spectrum of businesses, including serving on the boards of several prominent London Market Brokers.
His professional journey has taken him to the US, UK, and Bermuda, providing him with a distinctive perspective on the international (re)insurance landscape.
Drawing on this extensive industry insight, he founded Abimar Brokers in 2020 with the aim of establishing a more efficient and aligned approach to conducting business within the global insurance markets.
